The webinar was very helpful and knowledgeable. It cleared the concepts in a practical way which were taught during the webinar. Overwhelmed to attend this session.
The primary goal of using the lie detection technique during a forensic investigation is to discover the truth about a person who is suspected of concealing it from others, which can be valuable evidence to catch the culprit.
Polygraphy, or psychophysiological lie detection, is based on the theory that when a person lies, particular emotions are produced. These emotions produce corresponding, measurable physiological responses that can be studied. With this methodology, you can measure breathing rhythm, blood pressure, and skin conductance. A few other metrics, like voice stress analysis and functional magnetic resonance imaging reliability, are yet to be proven.
Although this technique is in its early stages of development, it can still be used as supporting evidence to determine if the suspect actually committed the crime or not. In this webinar on "How to Detect Lies & Deception", the speaker will focus on the history of using lie detection techniques and how the process is carried out by using various physical and verbal indicators.
