The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act came into force on November 14, 2012. The Government of India rolled out several rules to deal with cases related to child sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and trafficking and aim to protect children’s interests during the judicial proceedings.
It ensures creating a safer environment for the child while reporting, recording evidence, investigating, and speeding up the trial of offences in designated special courts.
This webinar focuses on child protection laws, child safety education, legal responsibilities in child protection for the common man, and stakeholders’ roles under the POCSO Act for child protection. It also highlights why it is a mandatory legal duty for a person to report sexual offences if they have knowledge about a child who has been sexually abused.
